Meet Jessica.

Jessica has more than 20 years experience in designing, planning and producing unforgettable events that leave her clients and guests amazed and blown away. Her inherent nature for teamwork, positivity and calming nature brings out the best in her clients, vendors and teammates, ensuring a positive planning experience from the start.

As an experienced wedding planner, she has an established reputation of being committed to excellence and consistently excelling under pressure. From the earliest phases of the planning process to the culmination of the final event, her attention to detail, logistical expertise and dedicated work ethic are guaranteed to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. 

Jessica has her degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa where she was a Division I athlete, and her Masters in Event Management from ASU where she was a Graduate Assistant Coach. In addition to her collegiate accolades, she competed for the Greek National Team from 2002 - 2007, including the 2004 Olympics in Athens and the 2005 World Championships in Beijing.

Jessica and her husband Trevor have been married since 2007 and have 3 wonderful children; Luke, Grace and Kate. If she isn't out at a wedding or meeting with clients, you can typically find her at the ballfield or in the gym watching her kids compete and blazing their own trails.








Dorothy

Lead Wedding Planner

Dorothy came to Shine Events with a background in education and a Bachelors in Communication Disorders, where she was a Speech Language Pathology Assistant for 8 years. It was here she honed her skills in communication, organization, planning and preparation. Combine that with a love for fashion, architecture and interior design, and the dream to be a wedding planner was born.
In addition to bringing her couples weddings to life, Dorothy also volunteers her time with Best Buddies and loves Reality TV. Her current favorite is Love Island USA.

Gaby

Lead Wedding Planner
& Office Admin

While Gaby may be the newest member of the Shine Events team, joining in 2023, she is not new to the wedding industry. Gaby began her career in the industry in 2017 as an intern with well respected planning companies in both Tucson, AZ and Nantucket, MA. After graduating from the University of Arizona, she was an Assistant Planner with Nantucket Island Events and the Operations Manager for Blue Hill Farms in Virginia (a wedding venue Bed & Breakfast.)  After Covid, she moved back to Arizona and transitioned into a volunteer coordinator role for a local animal shelter - overseeing their events and managing for 400 volunteers.

In her free time, she enjoys going on walks with her family, trying new restaurants, tending to her chickens and garden, and fostering kittens & puppies! 

Lauren

Lead Wedding Day Assistant

Lauren joined Shine Events in 2017 and has been an integral part of the team from Day One. Highly organized and with a keen mind for the details, she leads the Shine Events setup team on wedding days. Her background in hospitality allows her to excel at creating a great experience for our clients and their guests. When she is not working, she loves spending time outdoors, including boating and camping, with her husband and two daughters.

Fun fact:
She holds a 100GT Merchant Mariners License through the USCG and was a boat/yacht captain for 4 year prior to getting into weddings.  

Taylor

event Assistant

Taylor was born and raised in Arizona where she has lived her whole life. Taylor grew up dancing and was a member of her dance team all through high school. After high school she was a member of the Arizona Rattlers dance team where she gained her love for supporting women and making them feel beautiful. While dancing for the rattlers she worked as an event coordinator at a local wedding venue where her love for wedding and event planning took off. She always loved weddings and events and wanted to stay involved in the industry. She turned that love into a career and got her Cosmetology license from Penrose Academy, thinking that hair would be her way to stay involved. She started taking clients hoping she'd get styling jobs for weddings. In taking clients she met Jessica, the owner of Shine Events. After assisting Jessica for a wedding Taylor knew she was doing exactly what she wanted to be doing. Taylor later joined the AIA spirit line committee to help plan events/competitions for high schools across Arizona.

Taylor is now a high school Pom coach, cosmetologist, and wedding day event assistant at Shine Events.
